Computers For Kids, Inc. (CFK) is a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR)
established in 2002 to help bridge the digital divide. We work with a
network of businesses and individuals to refurbish retired computer
equipment. Distribution of the refurbished equipment is done
through schools and other non-profit organizations.
To qualify for a computer set (CPU with modem, monitor,
keyboard, and mouse) applicants must complete a Qualification Form and
submit it through a school or non-profit organization.
Qualification Forms are available at many schools and non profits, and
are also downloadable from our Home Page.
The cost of the computer sets ranges from $50 to $125,
depending on the type and operating system. For more information, see
the Qualification Form on our HOME PAGE.
CFK also holds recycle events to help keep electronic waste
out of our landfill. Computers and all electronic waste are
hazardous and should never be placed into regular garbage.
Electronic waste should always be taken to a commercial recycler
or the hazardous waste division at the landfill for proper disposal.
Please help spread the word about CFK. There are many families
who need a computer, but do not know about us. There are also
many businesses that may not know how to safely discard retired
computer equipment.
Please help
spread the word about the Computer for Kids program.
